The event comprises the three disciplines of men's singles, women's singles, and mixed pairs. There will be five sections in each discipline. The draw can be found at the link below.
As CTO for the event, I am delighted to be working alongside three other ITOs, Huw Jones from Wales, Jackie Neill and Martyn Jenkins from Scotland. We are also excited to be working with an excellent team of Markers from the Guernsey Indoor Association who have undergone some intensive training sessions to prepare for this prestigious event.
Our first duty is a meeting with all the officials on Saturday morning for final checks and questions. Saturday will be spent ensuring that everything is set up from our point of view and, for those that have not visited before, familiarising themselves with the venue.
Saturday afternoon we have a meeting with the players and team officials and this will be followed by an Opening Ceremony at the Grand Hall of the Royal Court House.
Sunday is the first day of play. With 7 sessions per day up until the knockout stages it is going to be a busy week. The format is Sets Play comprising 2 sets of 7 ends with a 1 end tie-break if required. Players in Singles will play with 4 bowls and in the Mixed Pairs, 3 bowls. There is a 2 hour time limit impossed on each game.
